Jane's Days 25 - 28

Day 25 - the big one!

Here's how the page began ....

and developed ....

and finished up. No room for journalling ....

so I made another.

And developed it like this.

But no time for journalling now, so it stayed like this:

I decided to let the photos tell their own story.

There is also a page protector in between with some extra pics - sharing some of them on my blog - here.

Day 26

Lots of stamping on this page - a poinsettia from Uniko and trees and sentiments from Clearly Besotted plus the journal card made using Katie Pertiet Antibes digi elements.

I added some colour to the poinsettia and some vertical strips of washi to liven things up a bit.

A quick and simple digi photo page - maybe tomorrow things will calm down!

Day 27

At last a quiet peaceful day without visitors and time to catch up a bit on my album. I coloured some wooden snowflakes and die cut a leafy strip.

I added my journalling, some ribbon strips and a tree from Simple Stories Mistletoe Kisses bits & pieces ephemera and thought I was done ...

.... but the pink dots on the tree were bothering me, so I covered them with brown pearls and green gems.  And discovered I was no where near finished! Word stickers, picture stickers, red gems and a coating of Wink of Stella to the snowflakes seemed like essential additions.

As this was a nothing much happening sort of day I decided to use all my Advent photo challenge pics in a digi collage.

Day 28

As I love it so much I used the reindeer die again - first appearance was on day 1.

I added some digi word strips, some ribbon and enamel dots.

Then came the journalling and word stickers - chosen because it was such a chillly frosty but bright and sparkly day. I noticed that the reindeer was disappearing into the background a bit so I outlined it with a brown promarker.

The photo is up on Lincoln castle wall with the Victorian prison, ancient keep and cathedral in the background just seconds before we began a perilously slippery descent.  The boys thought this enormous fun, but it had me gripping the rail tightly with both hands!

Deb's Days 24 - 26.

Day 24.

In each of my December Dailys I like to include a copy of a grocery docket and this year I almost forgot.   So with some last minute Christmas goodies to get as well as a few of the usual groceries, I copied the docket, folded it up and popped it into a pocket made from 2 (1 1/2 actually) Project Life type cards.   Santa was cut from my one piece of Christmas patterned paper that I had in my supplies - the one I didn't think I would be using at all and all that is left is a few scraps.

The copy of the docket fits quite snuggly into the pocket so it should be safe enough not to attach it to any twine etc.

Day 25.

and this year it was a VERY quiet Christmas Day for us.

On this page I've added another Christmas Carol.  The red patterned paper lifts up to reveal journalling about the day and I've cut the "happy Christmas" picture from that one piece of paper I had.

and opposite on one of the book's pages, I've swiped on some white gesso as the background for my photos and added a scalloped border down the side made from the same patterned paper used opposite.

Day 26.

and this is where my December Daily ends.  I usually make Boxing Day the final day and it worked out well in my little book.  I found this old piece of Prima packaging still with the green sticky dots (not sticky anymore) and some maroon blobs on it but it worked well to use for my little bit of journalling that I had for this day. Watercolour pencils used to colour the angel picture and added ric rac to the side.

This was how the last page in the book originally looked.  The plan for this page was to print in the names of all the extra carols I had added to my December Daily.  So off I went (no photo sorry) and started printing them in order as they appeared amongst the ones already in the book.  It came to a sudden halt after a couple when I realized the carols already listed in the back of the book weren't in page order but in alphabetical order.  Hmmmm.......so that plan was out the window and the index then got covered up.  Still happy with how it has turned out though.

So now that I have finished my pages of this year's December Daily, all that is left for me to do is to bind it all together and enjoy!

Mandy's Days 21-24

Getting closer bit by bit to the end now!
----------------------------------
Day 21
I always try to put in a page about my two birds. Getting them to 'pose' next to
decorations and stay there long enough is often problematic

This time a washi tape base is used.  I LOVE a very wide washi tape
And just tear off the ends

Then two thinner festive washi tape strips down the middle of that

The 'swag' is actually a round wreath diecut that was broken apart
then pleated a little to make it lie open and some sparkle dots added.

 ------------------------------------------------------

DAY 22
More pompom trim!! This one is larger than the other two I've used
(You could also glue it if you dont want to sew)

I've added the vet bill to give an indication of what medicenes and the cost
was 'back in 2016' for in years to come
(LOL - that sounds ludicrous! but I already gasp at my really old Dec Dailys!!!)

The little red glitter swag acts as a something the pics are hung from by drawing little bows and running a line to the  photos

 ---------------------------------------------------------------

DAY 23

The other side of the red pompom page!
These are basic grey's 25th & Pine project life cards which fit really well on this page. I cut a few of them up and put them together so they worked well, and placed the photos over things that really were not that important.  A few stickers.....

And a gorgeous lamp diecut with some inking.
I tried to fit the cards in so the sewing from the other side could be seen too.

----------------------------------------------------------------

DAY 24

Oooh another transparency!!!
With some fabulous trim sewn up the side :)

And some added vintage doilies to hold the photos..

Just cut off the edges of the doilies...

And voila!  We'll be able to put photos back and front without having
to match up exactly :)
